I picked up Nexus Ops a while back. Pretty fun, light game that plays relatively quickly. I have only tried it as a 2-player game. I haven't had the chance to play with 3 or 4. It is definitely worth $15.00 though especially since it is OOP.
I played with 4 the first game, and it took quite a bit longer than we were expecting, but I think it was our usual cautious nature. This is a game that REQUIRES combat, or else it drags on a bit :).
Bought this game a couple months back, and it's made it to the game table (which is strikingly similar to my dining room table...just with the butterfly leaf expansion to make it bigger!) twice - three times if you count the practice game I played by myself to test out the rules and turn flow.
Aside from the one-player game, both of the times I played were 3-player games; the other two players were my kids (daughter 11, son 16). We loved it. The first time we played to a lower victory point total to move it along faster, the second time we played to 12 VPs. My daughter won the first time, which I'm sure contibuted to her liking the game. My son just prefers games where there's a lot of conflict/combat, but he's a teenage boy - this is right up his alley. (What am I saying? It's right up a lot of guys' alleys.)
All that rambling to say: I recommend the game.

PS - I also ordered color-matching dice for each of the players to have instead of using the basic B&W d6's that come with the game. It was like $4 more for the order, but I thought it added some additional coolness to the game, and the kids agree...they like having their own dice with their color army. Not a perfect color match, but close enough. :)

But it is a fun game, and well worth the $14.99.

Cool idea with the dice. I'll have to check the FLGS about some other dice...
Anyone played it with blacklights?
No, but I saw the coolest picture at BGG with nice lighting on one of the rock striders. :)
